Regular Reset:
To regularly turn off your Root® coding robot and/or force a disconnection of the Bluetooth® Low Energy connection:
- Power your Root® coding robot off by pressing and holding the robot’s yellow button (otherwise referred to as its “nose”) for three seconds until its LED lights turn off.
- Wait for about 10 seconds to allow the robot to fully shut down.
- Power your Root® coding robot back on by pressing and holding the robot’s yellow button (otherwise referred to as its “nose”) for three seconds until its LED lights turn on.
Forced Reset:
If your Root® coding robot is not responding as expected, you can perform a forced reset:
- Force reset your Root® coding robot by pressing and holding the robot’s yellow button (otherwise referred to as its “nose”) for ten seconds. This action forces the robot to turn off completely.
- Power your Root® coding robot back on by pressing and holding the robot’s yellow button (otherwise referred to as its “nose”) for three seconds until its LED lights turn on.
Factory Reset:
A traditional factory reset erases the information and settings on devices. Given that Root® coding robots do not retain any user data from previous usage, users do not need to conduct a factory reset. If you have changed the robot’s name, you may choose to rename it back to the original name of “ROOT” to simulate a factory reset.
